Thank you for visiting Hephzibah Online! Whether you have been around church your entire life or this is your first peek into it, Hephzibah Baptist Church has something to offer you. Our hope is that you will take the next step in becoming a part of our church community. Visit this weekend and experience fellowship with us for yourself. As you do, you will begin to see that Hephzibah Baptist is more than a dynamic church—it is a community of people led by Christ to bring hope, strength, and change to the world—one life at a time.
Our name, Hephzibah (pronounced hep-suh-buh) Baptist Church is a Hebrew name that means “The Lord delights in her” and is found in Isaiah 62:4:
Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the Lord delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.
Our Church was established on August 25, 1912 in a one room school house by 9 people. The vision was to be a people of God who would live, love, and serve their community in way that would bring delight and glory to the Lord. This vision is still true today.
